Integrative Hormone Program
Introducing our 3-Month Integrative Hormone Program
At The Healing House, we believe there is room for both objective health data and your personal experience when it comes to understanding your health. One of the greatest challenges with modern health tracking is that it can leave you with a wealth of information but little guidance on what to do with it. This program bridges that gap. We help you understand what your data means, identify patterns, and translate those insights into meaningful action.

Meet the Mira Hormone Monitor
-
Mira is a hormone tracking system that measures your hormone levels directly through daily urine testing at home. Using small testing wands, it analyzes key reproductive hormones and syncs the results to an app on your phone.
Instead of giving general predictions, Mira provides actual hormone data specific to your body. This allows you to see when ovulation is approaching, confirm if it has occurred, and better understand how your hormones are fluctuating throughout your cycle.
-
The Mira Ultra4 tracks four key reproductive hormones: estrogen (measured as E3G), luteinizing hormone (LH), progesterone (measured as PdG), and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH).
-
Definitely not. Hormones influence far more than fertility. They impact your energy, mood, sleep, metabolism, cycle and how you feel in your body day to day.
This program is designed to support your hormones as a whole system, not just for conception.
-
Standard ovulation predictor kits (OPKs) are designed to give a simple yes-or-no answer—typically showing a line or symbol when your hormones reach a certain threshold. They can help identify a short fertile window, but they don’t provide much detail about what’s actually happening in your body.
Mira works differently by giving you actual hormone levels in real numbers, rather than just a positive or negative result. It tracks how your hormones change over time and learns your unique patterns, so you can see a full picture of your cycle instead of a single moment.
-
Mira is used as a tool to help guide and refine your treatment. It gives us a clearer view of how your hormones are shifting throughout your cycle, so we’re not relying on symptoms alone.
Within the program, your Mira results are reviewed alongside your tongue and pulse, symptoms, and overall presentation at each visit. This allows your acupuncture treatments and herbal formulas to be adjusted in real time based on how your body is actually responding.
Over time, it helps us identify pattern like when ovulation is approaching, how your hormones are rising or falling, and where support is most needed.

Where does acupuncture come into play?
Acupuncture is where we actively work to shift how your body is functioning. While hormone testing shows us what your body is doing, acupuncture helps regulate it in real time. By using specific points based on your cycle phase, symptoms and hormone patterns, treatment supports communication between the brain and ovaries, improves circulation to the reproductive organs, and helps regulate the nervous system.
-
Acupuncture works by stimulating specific points on the body to support its natural ability to regulate and heal. In Chinese Medicine, acupuncture is used to restore harmony between the body's systems and address the underlying patterns contributing to symptoms. Rather than forcing a specific outcome, acupuncture works with your body's natural processes to encourage healthier function and resilience.
-
Most people are surprised by how gentle acupuncture feels. The needles used are extremely thin, much smaller than those used for injections or blood draws. You may feel a brief sensation as a needle is inserted, followed by feelings of warmth, heaviness, tingling, or relaxation around the point. Many patients become so relaxed during treatment that they fall asleep.
-
Hormone testing and acupuncture work together by combining objective hormone data with a holistic understanding of how your body is functioning. The Mira Hormone Monitor allow us to track hormone patterns throughout your cycle, while acupuncture, herbal medicine, tongue and pulse assessment, and your symptoms help us understand the bigger picture. This combination allows us to identify patterns that may be contributing to irregular cycles, fertility challenges, painful periods, or hormone-related symptoms. By understanding both what your hormones are doing and how your body is responding, we can create a more personalized treatment plan that evolves with your cycle and your needs.
-
Following your introductory virtual consultation, Dr. Izabel will already have an understanding of your health history and goals. Your first appointment will be a great time to discuss further anything that has come up since. It is during this initial appointment that you will also receive your Mira device and instructions for sharing your hormone levels directly with Dr. Izabel. The order of each treatment will look relatively similar. You will consult with Dr. Izabel, discussing how you are feeling and what’s changed and then you will receive acupuncture and rest with the needles in with the complimentary red light therapy for 20 minutes. Following treatment, you should begin to feel shifts within 24-48 hours.

In Chinese Medicine, it is said that it takes a season to reset. Change will begin happening right away, but to see long-term consistent change 3 cycles is necessary.
Additionally, sometimes when our body has lived with imbalances for a long time, the transition into balance can be a new experience that the body needs proper time to acclimate to. We find that 3 months is adequate time to adjust to this balancing, as well provide enough treatments to ensure results are long-term. -
You might have heard the term “hormone balancing” thrown around on social media, but what does it actually mean? The term refers to restoring hormone levels and patterns to their natural rhythms. Hormones aren’t mean to achieve a perfect balance - they fluctuate all the time! “Balancing” might mean restoring estrogen to its natural ebb and flow instead of staying elevated when it’s time to ovulate. It could also mean restoring progesterone to it’s natural level to avoid estrogen dominance.

What will the program look like?
Each morning during the 3-month program, you will take a daily urine test at home. After 16 minutes, you’ll see your hormone levels populate in the Mira app.
During your next appointment, Dr. Izabel will review your hormone levels with you as well discuss any changes that have come up for you since the last appointment
Using your Mira results, along with tongue and pulse assessment, vitals and the information you share at each visit, Dr. Izabel is able to fully customize your treatment in real time. By seeing the patterns your body is showing through both data and clinical insight, care can be adjusted throughout your cycle.
Alongside your acupuncture treatment and red light therapy, you will receive a Chinese herbal medicine prescription. Chinese herbs have powerful effects on hormone health: helping to regulate the menstrual cycle, support ovulation, reduce inflammation and address underlying imbalances contributing to your symptoms.
Every 4 weeks, you will have a virtual check-in with Dr. Izabel. This is the perfect time to reflect on your progress, clarify goals for the next month, and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan, herbs or supplementation. This time allows us to zoom out and look at patterns over time to ensure your care continues to align with how your body is responding.

Just like the earth moves through the four seasons, so does a women’s body…
Associated with menstruation, this is a time to slow down and keep warm. With hormones at a low, it is normal to need extra time to rest.
Winter
As you transition out of your period, you begin to be more inspired and capable of growth. With estrogen on the rise, you might experience increased mood and libido.
Spring
Ovulation has arrived. During this short period of time, you likely feel more energetic and social. Brought on by a surge of LH, the egg is released and ovulation has occurred.
Summer
After ovulation, release of progesterone marks the beginning of luteal phase. Just like the leaves drop during the fall, the luteal phase asks you to slow down and release before restarting the cycle.
Fall
But what if your cycle doesn’t happen like this?
Maybe you have a painful cramping, experience anxiety or depression before menstruation, have a long cycle, late ovulation. These experiences are common for many women, but they don’t have to be your normal.
